Baseline CMX is the newest member of the Baseline family of content-managed web applications. Joining siblings Baseline CMS and Baseline eBlast - Baseline CMX gives organizations the ability to add an Intranet and/or an Extranet to their content management system.

"The setup of an Intranet or an Extranet can vary widely from one website to another," said Dave McKay, VP of NMA and Baseline's Senior Software Architect. "So simplicity and flexibility were the key design factors behind Baseline CMX. We've made it possible for the CMS administrator to publish content to a combination of individuals or groups - and as long as the recipient is logged in to the CMX - the system will take care of who sees what."

Baseline CMX has all the content management features of Baseline CMS and can be purchased as part of a new Baseline CMS installation, as an upgrade, or as a standalone web application.

Financial Planners Standards Council (FPSC) is an association that manages professional standards for over 15,000 members. The administration of the annual membership renewal process had become a timely and costly annual undertaking. FPSC needed a solution that would make this process more efficient and asked NMA to help.

NMA's needs analysis showed that the best solution was an online registration extranet, where FPSC members could login, verify their status and renew their membership before the yearly deadline.

Designed by NMA and launched in 2002, the project was a success for both members and for the FPSC, with 10% of members registering online - representing a significant savings in time and resources.

But the most dramatic results were enjoyed this year, when the FPSC sent email reminders to all members encouraging them to use the registration extranet.

"With 2 months remaining in Financial Planners Standards Council's online licence renewal, 43% of CFP licensees have been renewed online. Last year, the total renewed online was only 19%." said Leigh Masters, Administrator Information Process. "And many licensees have called us to say how quick and easy the online renewal system is - we're very pleased."

Improving customer service while saving time and money is a great way to make everyone happy.

Our development team has been hard at work building exciting new features for Baseline CMS, the ultimate website for small and medium-sized businesses.

"One of our new features is the ability to add a Forum to your website," said Todd Climenhage of NMA. "Forums are a great resource for customer support because they can involve both customers and support staff. They're better than CHAT software because the forum posts are archived in the CMS, and they're neatly organized into discussion threads."

Another new feature adds Surveys and Questionnaires to Baseline CMS. NMA's Tonja Terterian reports, "Managing questionnaires is as easy as adding an article to your website. Plus, there are five different question types to handle all kinds of inquiries - including an open-ended text box to give your customers a chance to really speak their mind!"

One of the latest email worms making the rounds is Netsky. It appears at your Inbox - sometimes from a sender you might recognize. But beware the attachment - it contains a destructive worm which installs itself on your computer - deleting important files and sending out infected emails to people in your address book.

Be very suspicious of emails with vague subject lines, such as:

Re: Your website Re: Your product Re: Your letter
Re: Your archive Re: Your text Re: Your bill
Re: Your details Re: My details Re: Word file
Re: Excel file Re: Details Re: Approved
Re: Your software Re: Your music Re: Here
Re: Re: Re: Your document Re: Hello Re: Hi
Re: Re: Message Re: Your picture Re: Here is the document
Re: Your document Re: Thanks! Re: Re: Thanks!
